News:    A Super control valve for small diameters
OVERVIEW

1. Pressure-Sustaining-Reducing valve - RS
Ensures that the upstream pressure does not fall below the pre-set pressure,
as well as safeguarding against the downstream exceeding the required pressure.
Basic, double-chambered, hydraulic valve with multi-directional ball
valve, a 3-way, C pilot, model A, and a 3-way C pilot, Model B.
Normally closed (N.C) or normally open (N.O).
Also ensures steady regulation at low flow rates including zero flows,
without need for a by-pass.
Precise regulation (maximum deviation of 0.7 psi /0.5 m).
High regulation ratios (see table in the Technical Data sheet).
Wide range of flow rates (see table in the Technical Data sheet).
Remote control possible (Hydraulic or electric).
A 2" pressure relief valve must be installed after the valve to safeguard
against line failures (e.g. stones).
An air relief valve must be installed after the valve and care taken to
vent the air from the line for stable functioning of the system.
An orifice can be installed in the groove coupling for operation at high
regulation ratios. For guidance, call our Applications Department.
Three pressure ranges are available: low tension spring (0-20 psi/0-1.5 bar),
medium (standard) tension spring (7 psi / 0.5 to 220 psi / 16 bar), and
high tension spring (20-340 psi/1.5 to 24 bar).

2. Pressure-Reducing valve with Flow Rate Regulation - RF
Maintains a pre-set downstream pressure while limiting the flow rate to the required value.
Basic hydraulic double-chambered valve, with multi-directional ball
valve, 3-way Model A, C-pilot, and a 3-way Model D, C-pilot, and orifice
upstream or downstream of the valve.
Normally closed (N.C).
It is recommended to install the orifice about 20" / 0.5 m before the valve
so as to prevent fluctuations in the downstream pressure.
Steady regulation also at low flow rates, including zero flow, without
need for a by-pass.
Accurate pressure regulation (maximum deviation of 0.7 psi / 0.5 m).
Precise flow rate regulation with maximum deviation of 4.4 GPM/ 1m3/hr.
High regulation ratios (see table in Technical Data sheet).
Wide range of flow rates (see table in Technical Data sheet).
It is recommended to install an external control filter, in addition to the
existing flushing in-line filter, which is an integral component of M1 valves.
Remote control (hydraulic or electric) possible.
Install a 2" pressure relief valve after the valve to guard against line
failures (e.g. stones).
Install an air relief valve after the valve and take care to vent the air
from the line for stable functioning of the system.
Three pressure ranges are available: low tension spring (0-20 psi/0-1.5 bar),
medium (standard) tension spring (7-220 psi / 0.5 to 16 bar), and high
tension spring (20-340 psi / 1.5 to 24 bar).

3. Pressure-Sustaining valve with Flow Rate Limiting -SF
Maintains upstream pressure while limiting the flow rate to below the required value.
Basic hydraulic double-chambered valve, with multi-directional ball
valve, 3-way C-pilot, Model B, and a 3-way C-pilot Model D and orifice
downstream of the valve.
Normally closed (N.C).
Stable regulation also at low flow rates, including zero flow, without
need for a by-pass.
Accurate pressure regulation (maximum deviation of 0.7 psi / 0.5 m).
Precise flow rate regulation maximum deviation of 4.4 GPM / 1m3/hr.
High regulation rates (see table in Technical Data sheet).
Wide range of flow rates (see table in Technical Data sheet).
It is recommended to install an external control filter, in addition to
the existing flushing in-line filter, an integral component of M1 valves
Remote control (hydraulic or electric) possible.
Three pressure ranges are available: low tension spring (0-20 PSI/0-1.5 bar),
medium (standard) tension spring (7-220 PSI / 0.5 to 16 bar), and
high-tension spring (20-340 PSI/1.5 to 24 bar).

4. Pressure-Sustaining-Float Valve (Two-level) - SV
Maintains upstream pressure while filling or emptying the reservoir to
between the required levels.
Basic, double-chambered, hydraulic valve with multi-directional ball
valve, a C pilot, and 4-way float valve.
Normally closed (N.C) or normally open (N.O) valve.
For N.C control, two 6-mm tubes are required, one for control from
the pilot to the valve, the other for control from the float valve to
the reservoir valve.
For N.O control, three 6-mm tubes are required, one for control from
the pilot to the valve, the second for control from the float valve to the reservoir valve, and the third to feed the valve.
The N.C valve on an increase in the reservoir water level vents the
control tubes and the valve closes; on the drop of the float, the
float pressurizes the control tubes and opens the valve in accordance
with the pressure-sustaining pilot.
The N.O valve on an increase in the reservoir water level pressurizes
the control tubes and the valve closes; on the drop of the float,
the float vents the control tubes and opens the valve according to
the pressure-sustaining pilot.
Wide range of flow rates (See table in Technical Data sheet).
A stilling device should be installed around the float to restrain the
wave effects.
An external pilot filter should be installed, in addition to the existing
flushing in-line strainer, which is an integral component of all M1 valves.
Remote control (hydraulic or electric) possible.
In installations where the downstream pressure is low, it is recommended
to install an orifice in the Quikcoup coupling downstream of the valve
to maintain a positive valve pressure.
The closure can be restrained.

5. Pressure-Sustaining Float Valve (Pre-set Level) - SV
Maintains the upstream pressure while filling or emptying the reservoir to its pre-set level.
Basic, hydraulic, double-chambered valve, with multi-directional ball
valve, C-pilot, Model B, restrictor or needle valve and 2-way plastic
or metal float.
Normally open (N.O).
A tube is required to control the pressure from the pilot to the float.
When the reservoir water level rises, the float reduces the passage, the
pressure in the control tube rises, and the valve closes; when the float drops, the valve vents the control tube and opens the valve according to the pressure sustaining pilot.
Wide range of flow rates (see table in Technical Data sheet).
A stilling device should be installed around the float to restrain the wave
effects.
An external control strainer should be installed, in addition to the existing
flushing in-line straining, which is an integral component of M1 valves.
Remote control (hydraulic or electric) possible.
In installations with low downstream pressures, it is recommended to
install an orifice in the Quikcoup coupling downstream of the valve to
maintain a positive valve pressure.

6. Pressure-Sustaining Pump Valve (Booster) - BS
The valve maintains a minimum pressure at the pump outlet and fully opens when the line fills up; this prevents the pump from operating at low pressure during the filling of the line. When the supply voltage fails, the valve closes immediately and prevents return flows.
Basic, hydraulic, double-chambered valve, with multi-directional ball
valve, C-pilot, and 2 solenoids.
Wide range of flow rates (see table in Technical Data sheet).
A signal causes the valve to operate as a pressure-sustaining valve; when
the pressure increases above the pre-set pressure, the valve opens fully.
Voltage cutout results in valve closure.
Operating voltage: according to solenoid specs.
For typical installation, see Installation of pressure-sustaining valves.
